Inventors, scientists, or "geeks" always use technology with the best intentions: to help humanity. We can never deny the importance of technology in our daily lives and how easy and convenient it has made our transition from the jungle to civilization. Nor technological advancement or our over-ambitious nature is the problem. The real problem stems from realizing the responsibility towards humanity and the awareness of the power we have to save or help humans. It is a divine realization: to hold yourself responsible for the destiny of a species because once you are fully responsible, you have full authority. Authority itself is not an issue, but the authority of whom?
The technology in question here is the BCI (Brain-Computer Interface), which has two types: invasive and non-invasive. Since non-invasive technology is not considered a threat, we will only tackle the invasive BCI, which has direct contact and access to your brain, neurons, and impulses. Invasive BCI is used to help paralyzed people or people with disabilities to interface with every device for faster and more natural interactions. Now it has one purpose: to help humans in need. But shortly, with better technological advancements, it will become a necessity, and people with authority will think everyone needs it; this is the real problem because what will happen if tyrants decide that you, with your individuality, are a threat?
